Dear Parents and Carers,

We hope this message finds you well as we wrap up a really positive first week back at school. We’ve been so impressed with how the children have returned—settling in beautifully and showing great enthusiasm for their learning.

Throughout the week, we’ve spent time in classrooms and have been genuinely pleased with what we've seen: strong engagement, positive attitudes, and some early signs that the changes we introduced this term are already having a great impact. We also successfully tested our new fire alarm system this week, and we’re pleased to report a safe and efficient evacuation.

A big thank you to those of you who have taken the time to say hello and introduce yourselves— it’s been lovely getting to know you, hearing your thoughts about the school, and beginning conversations about how we can work together to make St Michael’s the very best it can be. Please continue to stop by—we’re always happy to talk and our door is always open.

Communications
We know there’s been a lot of information coming your way this week! As we settle into the term, this end-of-week email will become our main channel for regular updates. In the coming weeks, we’ll also begin making more use of our new website and will look to establish a presence on social media. We're excited about using these platforms to help you stay connected and to share more of the great things happening at St Michael’s— more information will follow, so watch this space!

School Dinners
Thank you for your patience as we work through a few early issues with the school meals ordering system. We’re currently planning to move to a more user-friendly interface (still via ParentMail) alongside the relaunch of our catering menu and offer at October half term. In the meantime, we kindly ask that you continue to place dinner orders at least five days in advance—this really helps us to run the system smoothly.

FOSM (Friends of St Michael’s)
This morning saw the Friends of St Michael’s (FOSM) AGM. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and commitment this fantastic group brings to our school community. There are many exciting events planned which will be shared with you in due course.
