Proverbs 22:6
At St Michael’s C of E Primary School, we recognise the vital role that we have to help shape the lives of the children we are privileged to work with and also the adults that make up a huge part of their lives.
Following Jesus’ example, we put all of the children at the heart of all we do, knowing that they are our future. In school, we are in a position to help shape the children’s lives both now and for the future and Proverbs 22:6 helps encapsulate this. Children will come to us from many different backgrounds and with various experiences, and it is important for us to recognise and celebrate these but also to offer them a path to follow - academically, socially, emotionally, morally and spiritually - that will lay the foundations both in the immediate future and potentially much further.
Whether children come to us at the start of their schooling in Foundation Stage or at some later point in their journey, we will, through both explicit and implicit teaching and modeling of our school vision and by living it out in practice through our four Christian Values of Love, Integrity, Creativity and Resilience” create a community within our school and beyond, which we can all be proud of.
As we all take these journeys through our ongoing education, we as a Church of England school know that we are not alone in this, and that Christ himself is with us. Being together, gives us all strength and security so that the decisions we make are based on firm foundations which can last for many years to come if we chose to continue that journey with Him.
