Sadly not everything that "glitters is gold". We are due to hear within the hour what the Prime Minister has to say to the nation and there is lots of speculation about what this might be and I won't share my thoughts here. Instead, a lovely thought I heard this morning which resonates...
A doctor speaking on BBC Breakfast described children and COVID as like glitter; they are not affected by it (they love to get involved with it) but they take it everywhere they go and spread it liberally (you will all have memories of finding it everywhere).
Whatever Boris Johnson says tonight, I doubt it will change much in the immediate future for us but for those of you that do have the option of keeping your children at home even if you might class as a Critical Worker, then I would urge you to do so for every day that you can.
The learning that will take place is the same in school and online to homes, so they won't miss out there. Safety of your family is first and foremost for all of you and for me, it is the safety of my staff that is at the forefront of my mind.
